Hailing from Scarborough ON Canada, Typhoon Sound was founded and created in 1992 by sound selectors Mikee P (1975-2009 R.I.P.) and Bradley. The duo sold a goose down jacket in return for 2 turntables and a mixer. Typhoon’s first love is reggae music; they have dub plates with some of reggaes most legendary performers such as Barrington Levy, Capleton, Sugar Minott and many others. Typhoons dynamic sound caters not only to the reggae world but to all genres of music. From country and rock to hip-hop and house Typhoon Sound makes it a point to please the crowd and keep the people moving. Over the years Typhoon has played in various places such as Jamaica, Montreal, Vancouver and other towns and cities around North America. In November 2009 Typhoon Sound was hit hard with the loss of one of their main members Mikee P who passed suddenly and unexpectedly. That same year Junior B had joined Typhoon Sound and even with the loss of one of their front men Typhoon continues to move forward and push their sound to higher levels.
