Lawrence Estrey, originally from Lancashire but now in London, studied music at Dartington College of Arts in Devon. He specialised in piano, composition and musicological research, and graduated with Honours. Later, he won the Fritz Gottlieb Memorial Scholarship for Piano and studied with Vera Yelverton in London.
He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (St Mary’s Cathedral) and the Edinburgh University’s Reid Concert Hall. Other concert venues include Central Baptist Church (Bloomsbury) for the International Recital Series, Sutton House, St Lawrence Jewry, St Magnus the Martyr, St Bride’s Fleet Street, Lauderdale House (Highgate), The Barnfield Theatre (Exeter) and The Palace Avenue Theatre (Paignton). In 2016, Lawrence produced a CD of his piano music.
A writer, Lawrence has published an autobiography (My Musical Journey) and two crime novels, Secrets, and EggHead.
