Attica Scott describes her family background and growing up in Louisville’s Beecher Terrace neighborhood. Scott also discusses her work as the Louisville Metro Councilwoman for District One, including revitalization efforts such as the Community Garden, public art installations, and efforts to increase employment opportunities in the area. Scott discusses the impact of the 1968 Uprising on the Parkland neighborhood, and how residents remember that event. She cites a reduction in violent crime in Parkland during her tenure and shares a hopeful outlook for the neighborhood’s future.
