Dear Death,
It was such a surprise to see you. As I prepared tea and biscuits, I realized I was unprepared to serve them. I ask you to forgive this heart on a sleeve. It cries not for you, but for the passing of my faithful dog, Nana. Please help yourself to as much tea as you like since I know you'll be unable to visit again for quite some time.
