Luke 15:1- A man has 100 sheep and one is lost. He leaves the 99 sheep and rejoices when the lost sheep is found. Likewise there is rejoicing in heaven when a sinner returns to the fold.
A woman has 10 silver coins and loses one. She rejoices when the missing coin is found.
A man has two sons and the younger asks for his inheritance and goes away to a foreign country and spends his inheritance. A famine takes over the land the son went to and he begins to starve. He decides to return to his father and ask to work as a servant.
The father sees the son returning and runs to him and prepares a celebration because his missing son had returned.
The older son is upset but his father reminds him about his inheritance. The father points out the brother who was lost is now found.
Ephesians 1 tells us we have been given this great inheritance.
Luke 6:38 tells us to give and we will receive.
John 14:1 tells us not to worry, take hold of the promises (our inheritance).
