Pastor Grant Buchanan is an Associate Lecturer at Alphacrucis College.
He presented a slide show.
We have to figure out who we are; "Who am I".
"You are who you are" is a nice saying but what does it mean.
We paused for Remembrance Day at 11:00am.
Ps Grant told us of his background at the end saying he is a "label".
We determine who we are by what we do but we are more than what we do.
We worship God not because that is what we should do but because that is what those who worship God do.
In Romans 7:14-20 Paul tells us "We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do — this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it".

Ps Grant talked about the following:
Up Heaven High Polished God Good
--------------------------------------------------------
Down Earth Low Unpolished Creation Very Bad

In John 14:10 Jesus says "Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work".

Our image of God creates us.

Romans 8:15 tells us "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father".
