Music from The Charlatans, Barenaked Ladies, and Supergrass make up this episode of Cut Me Some Slack. The twist is, something old and something new.
We open the show with a 'Top 5' of our favourite debut albums before moving on to The Charlatans. We talk about their success on both sides of the Atlantic, their swirling keyboard lines, and how their new (and pretty good) album came together.
Barenaked Ladies were next up and as well as talking about their history, discography, the 'Yellow Tape', Ben also gives us an interesting account of his own relationship with the band. We play 'Brian Wilson' from their debut album 'Gordon'.
We move on to the band's most recent album, released in June 2015 and why they didn't want The Who to have the only song about a 'pinball machine'.
Closing the show was a song from Supergrass, their Speilberg connection and why they're not 'geezers' any longer.
Enjoy the show.
