Wynton Kelly Stone Guess was born in Louisville, KY in 1993 and started playing violin and piano at the age of six. He began to concentrate on piano exclusively at the age of eight when he moved to the New York City Metropolitan area (New Jersey). He has studied with, played for and performed with some of the greatest names in jazz including: Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, McCoy Tyner, Ahmad Jamal, Bebo Valdes, Ellis Marsalis, Marc Cary, T.S. Monk, Victor Goines, Wess Anderson and Todd Williams. His principal piano teacher from age 8 to 17 was world-class, critically acclaimed pianist, Aysegul Emine Durakoglu.

In 2003, Wynton traveled to Santiago de Cuba for a weeklong piano education residency with a professor from the music conservatory. In 2004 he traveled around Europe with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, learning valuable musical lessons as he heard the Orchestra perform each night. In 2010 Wynton was accepted into the New York Youth Symphony composition program Making Score where he was among several students selected to compose for the American Composer’s Orchestra.

Wynton completed his Bachelor's degree at the Boston Conservatory in 2014. Upon graduation he received the Roger Sessions Memorial Composition Award. He is currently pursuing a Master in Music in composition at the Royal College of Music.
