Mr. Jack Barrett was born in 1904. His family moved to Cessnock when he was one year old, where his father worked in the Neath area as a timber cutter. Mr. Barrett was taught by the nuns at the local convent school, where he also recalls the many priests who served the Cessnock parish. Much of the following discussion is centred on recalling early residents and their friends, families etc.
