It's a new episode of The Bureacast! In this episode I'll be discussing new public management. This will be directed at the pitfalls of the new public management system and some of the contradictions towards the three E’s. We’ll explore the damaging effect of growing user fees as a regressive tax and the development of a buyer and seller relationship between citizens and public administration. Things will be capped off by asking if new public management is even turning public administration into a more business like environment. Studies say it is not. Finally I’ll make the case that a more open public sector that embraces its role as a public entity is good for an efficient, economic, and effective public administration.
