May 23rd 1989 Dana Edwards and Steve Rountree birth Terry Edwards Rountree in Yale New Haven Hospital. A young man raised in a house hold of 5 women without a male presence except for his uncles and fellow friends was forced to grow into a man without knowing the definition of the word. The only young male of a family of aunts few uncles and female cousins. Taught early by peers and raised by his fellow neighborhood friends as a gang of fatherless children roamed they taught themselves how to grow into men acting out there own definition of the word, losing his father at a young age kept him out of trouble fearing for putting his mom through the losing of another love one to the streets. On the flipside of things being raised by females allow him to see the struggle and heartache from the females perspective a compassion lived in him that the hood didn’t tolerate. Tho traditionally label an R&B artist his fast spitting lyrical content gave him the ability to hang with the best of the local rappers in his city which got him crowned the CT Prince of his state or at least his town seeing there wasn’t a lot of competition in the peoples eyes to compare him to. With cross over genres into rock, pop, hip hop, soul, and r&b he is deadly with a pen and almost unmatched with song topic being able to cross into almost any lifestyle of living weather it be suburban or inner city. His style of music has been compared to 80’s pop, 90’s r&b, with the lyrical content of Drake and Trey Songz put into his own style.
As of lately he has been performing with his local super hip hop team called “Young Soldierz” a.k.a "Swag Mob" who consist of Fredrick Young Blake Sanders, Melvin Will-J Wilkes, Brandon B-EZ Emery, & Corey Solo Sullivan who have opened up for Donnie Klang at Mont Ida College in Mass. as well as Sheek Louch at the legendary Toads Place Venue downtown New Haven, CT as well as I host of other venues. While in the solo side of things putting together a solo mixtape his 2nd actually titled *Exclusive Stylez* a follow up of his trial mix tape *Royal Muzik* hosted by Shadyville DJ’s own DJ NICE. A music video has been shot to promote the local smash hit “Bottles On Me” which has gotten a lot of looks on you tube under the stage alias Prince Toot which has recently gotten changed to Terry Esquire to meet the demands of a mature crowd and the coming of his own away from his hip-hop group.
