Summary: The words of the prophet, Jeremiah, are words of covenant. The demand of the covenant was that the chosen people must obey God’s commands or else they will not be his people and he will not be their God. I will look at the expectation of obedience in the old covenant and compare that to the expectations of the New Testament. I will demonstrate that grace does not set aside the covenant demand for obedience.

Outline:
1. Obedience required for covenant relationship
2. The demand of obedience in the old covenant
3. The place of obedience in the covenant of grace
4. Therefore, I will obey the voice of God
