Clarence Munyai came out of his 6th heat in the 200m excited about his 20.19 first round time and 3rd place that put him into the semi finals in his first World Championships. In the interview he talks about his enjoyment and belief that he can make it through to the final, and in particular how proud he is that three South Africans had made it into the 200m semi final.
Shortly after leaving the mixed zone, the 19 year old was disqualified for running outside his lane (rule 163.3) and a similar offense penalized Canada's Aaron Brown.
Although an appeal was lodged by ASA the outcome was not completed by the time this was published, and such infringements are not readily over-turned.
