Last week Anand Sawkar Ji requested me to upload one of his favorite songs that I realized I had already covered and posted in Muziboo some 2 years ago. Just out of the blues I thought to check before this upload, what my description was on Muziboo and whether if I posted a translation too from my profile that I have had saved before Muziboo's closure. Very interestingly I found that this song was not only introduced to me by him but he had sent me the track with a request to cover it too back then. So here it goes again for you Anand Ji and also for friends who might enjoy a different kind of a song. Bhupinder Singh was also a guitarist for RDB and this song was penned by Gulzar, so my first assumption was that this could be RDB's composition but there was something unique in this composition that kept telling me it has to be some other composer. It was Jaidev Ji. I hope you all enjoy it.

Original by: Bhupinder Singh
Music by: Jaidev
Lyrics: Gulzar
Film: Gharaonda (1977)

A simple translation is as following:

A lone soul in this city
Searches for food and shelter

Day is like an empty utensil, Night like a blind well
In these deserted dark eyes, smoke comes out instead of tears
With no reason to live, he searches for an excuse to die

For these longer than age roads, never saw them arriving at destination
They just keep running, never saw them settle
In this alien city, searches for some acquaintance
