A visual “Simon Says” cooperative activity, where children face a partner. One child is the “leader” and the other is the “mirror.” The mirror copies (“reflects”) the actions of the “leader.” In order for each child to have a turn, there is a “gong” sound where both freeze - - that is the cue for the roles to reverse, and the mirror then becomes the leader and vice versa. After both children have had a turn being leader, the style of music changes, and children are encouraged to listen to the beat and the mood of the music as they select a movement that goes with the music.
