The Great Russian Easter Overture, written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1888. This was one of my favorite songs that we played in school! It's actually a very long song (~15 minutes), so I only played my absolute favorite parts...I hope all the classical lovers out there aren't too disappointed that I cut out a lot of the cool parts--especially all the slow, dark and gloomy-sounding moments. This was SO HARD! It's one thing if you're in an orchestra and only have to play one part, but trying to learn everything was a mess! I played all the parts individually and tried to mix them together at the end--there's no way anyone could just sit down at a piano and play this song from beginning to end all at the same time by themselves. The whole thing took forever, and my high notes sound so cheesy on my old electric piano (I had to get rid of my nice piano due to some not so fun circumstances... =( )! T_T
I only play about 1/3 of the song, which really doesn't do it justice... If you want to hear the whole piece with a full orchestra, there is a really nice recording on YouTube by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra:

Anyhoo...I hope you like it! =)
