Mysteries About Spiritual Status of New Covenant Children It is commonplace to speculate about the spiritual status of Children in the Church either from traditional or rational point of view. These widespread child-despising views are not necessarily biblical or authentic because even though we are answerable to God about our Children, these CHILDREN ARE NOT ANSWERABLE TO US BUT TO GOD.
Most Churches agree on the spiritual journey for adults and “ordinance” baptism of adult converts, but differ in the approach to children.
• - Some baptize (initiate-dedicate) their children WITH WATER in infancy and ‘confirm’ them without water in adolescence.
• - Others ‘dedicate’ their children WITHOUT WATER in infancy and baptize (initiate) them with water in adolescence.
• - Still some do nothing but leave their children to find their own way, while
• - Others baptise even non-covenant (pagan) children indiscriminately.
What is True Church Membership? by Ven I U IbemeA Christian CHURCH (Grk=ECCLESIA) refers to any locally GATHERED (Heb 10:25) and properly ORDERED (Phil 1:1; Tit 1:5) congregation of disciples who answer the CALL to be SANCTIFIED with the Word IN CHRIST (Act 20:32; 26:18; 1Cor 1:2; Eph 5:26) and to SERVE as the Lord’s harvest LABOURERS (Mat 9:38) in a given locality.
Believers are members of the Church to LEARN to be disciples and LABOUR to go into the world for making disciples (Mat 28:18-20); thus they fully please God (Col 1:10) and bring glory to Him (Col 3:15-17). Church membership is therefore a disciple’s response in answer to the call into the Lord’s vineyard (Mat 20:1-10) to LABOUR for the Lord’s harvest (Mat 9:36-38; Luk 10:1-3).
Christian Marriage Teaching 7 REPARATIONSREPARATIONS FOR PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH MARRIAGE.
Christian Marriage is unique. No one should enter into Christian Marriage union with any spouse that one is not ready to happily live with for life, unconditionally. IT IS BEST NOT TO MARRY A SPOUSE YOU ARE NOT READY TO FORGIVE ANYTHING. YOU DON'T LOVE SOMEONE ENOUGH FOR CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOU CAN'T FORGIVE THAT PERSON FOR. Those already married without this consideration should re-examine themselves and purpose such unto the Lord.
Christian Marriage Teaching 6 PRECAUTIONSFamilies, Pastors and Churches must endeavour to be involved in precautions to ensure robust foundation for successful marriages.
The FAMILIES must ensure inculcation of Christian convictions during upbringing, but avoid meddlesome interference after marriage.
The PASTORS must draw from their training and be devoted to their calling to ensure thorough biblical Teaching, pre and post marriage Counselling, Solemnizing and Resolution of misunderstandings (Lev 10:8-11; Deut 17:8-11; Mal 2:7; Act 20:20, 27; 2Tim 3:14-17).
The CHURCH should help to discourage what is unbecoming of the saints and encourage what is approved of God.
The COUPLE on their part must ensure their Conversion to Christ, Knowledge about Christian marriage, Choice based on irreversible convictions and unconditional commitment to complementary intimacy according to divine ordinance.
Christian Marriage Teaching 5 Q & A on CHOICE AND GOD'S WILLChristian Marriage is like a good ministry we are convinced we received from God by His favour and mercy (2Cor 4:1). The right spouse is the one you are meant to make-up for not just the one meant to make-up for you, the partner you are good for not the one good for you. Christ did not choose the Church because the Church is good for him because He is good for the Church and is ready to be so good to the Church unto the end, except we back out by ourselves. Those who are in Christ will be rewarded when they overcome unto the end (Rev 2:26).
Choose (discern and decide which person Prov 31:29; Song 6:8-9) the partner God has convincingly prepared you for and who you are ready to tolerate and appreciate, gratify and be grateful to, die for and live with according to God’s will (see Seminar 3 on Knowing God’s Will) and God’s leading Ruth 1:16-17; Mat 1:18-25.
