You may have an ethereal experience of others showing you the way to climb out of the hole, that hell you are in. If that occurs, it will involve your own personal movement, and the others would be those who are assisting you.
You may also experience that there are forces pulling you down as you are trying to go up. That is like people who are drowning. They will often climb on top of their rescuers, and that will pull their rescuers down with them. Often the people at the bottom are also giving you advice as to how to get out, yet they have not made the journey themselves, so you need to be aware of those you listen to. The people in hell trying to tell you what to do are actually holding you down, not realizing that they are pulling you down. Negative energy pulls down. Positive energy pulls you up.
