"Darlin True" Written/sung by Day Cathey. Recorded on his 30th birthday in his parent's living room on my Nakamichi cassette recorder. 2 Nakamichi condensor mikes used. This was an adhoc, mess around recording. There were many Portland musicians there celebrating his party. Main guitar solo part by Craig Stokey; Day singing playing his guitar, brother John Cathey played drums; and another David on violin (who also played with the Philharmonic Orchestra) and would cut loose 'jamming' with Day and Craig. In the 70's, the Cathey house enjoyed many musicians congregating and loosely joining in on each other's songs. These gatherings were a beautiful, pure fun experience. The photo, left to right is Craig, Day, and David. Note: Day has a tendacy to look down at the ground when recording (watching his guitar part), so, his voice goes downward and the mike doesn't pick him up all that well
