About:

Books on Parade is a weekly sampler of books on the New York Times Hardcover Fiction and Nonfiction Best Seller lists. It debuted on WILI-AM on December 3, 2010 and airs at 9:45 a.m. each Friday right after the Wayne Norman Show. The show has become quite popular in the Great Windham area.

Dr. Charles Wynn, a faculty member at Eastern Connecticut State University and the show's creator, reads information provided on the book's dustjacket and as much of its beginning pages as time permits. Listeners can then decide whether or not they wish to purchase the book or borrow it from their local library.

Dr. Wynn's efforts are part of an ongoing Reading Action Program (RAP) aimed at enhancing the literacy of children and adults that is being carried out by the Willimantic Lions Club and Lions Clubs International.
