Bol Hyderabad 90.4 fm is a campus-based community radio station located in University of Hyderabad, Gachibowli. Stationed in a university with a proud history, Bol Hyderabad is a pioneer in all genre programming among most FM radios. Besides catering to the university community, the 90.4 fm station broadcasts all year round in English, Hindi, Telugu & Urdu to cater to the communities in its surrounding areas (in a 15 km radius of Gachibowli). Bol Hyderabad's community is extremely diverse, encompassing university students, civil servants, educationists, IT professionals, scholars and other residents.

Mr. Jeedigunta is now the CEO of 3P Foundation, which is a think tank working on energy and smart cities. Recently only adding another feather to his cap, he released his new book “Shape Up for Smart Cities” as India is planning to build 100 smart cities.

    Caught in Passing_Dr Subhashini Kaligotla_Sandhya Ravindran( Bol Hyderabad’s “Caught in Passing” ensures to find space for eminent personalities who visit the university to be part of programme. The campus radio station provides talks, interviews, readings, reviews and other programmes which make it a multipurpose radio station. In the “Caught in Passing” segment of Bol Hyderabad, Sandhya Ravindran, a Research Scholar in the Department of English interviewed Dr. Subhashini Kaligotla, poet of Indian diaspora and architectural historian of medieval India. Her early education and training were in engineering, and she gave up a successful career in the telecom industry to pursue first an MFA in Creative Writing and then a PhD in Art History, earning both degrees from Columbia University (in 2006 and 2015 respectively). She is also the recipient of a Full Bright Fellowship to India for Literary Translation. Her writing projects were also supported by Fellowships from Hedgebrook, Kundiman and Sanskrit Kendra (New Delhi). Her poems have appeared in such journals as The Caravan, Drunken Boat, The Literary Review, New England Review, and Western Humanities Review, and in anthologies of poetry from India and the diaspora, most notably 60 Indian Poets (Penguin India, 2008), The Bloodaxe Book of Contemporary Indian Poets (Bloodaxe), and Indivisible: An Anthology of Contemporary South Asian American Poetry (U. of Arkansas). As editor, she curated the poetry content of two US-distributed print journals—Columbia: A Journal of Literature & Art and Catamaran—featuring Asian American poets and South Asian poetry in English and in English translation. Her debut collection of poetry, Bird of the Indian Subcontinent was released in January 2018. She talked on various topics of interest including her research areas such as visual arts, architecture and poetry. She shared her experiences as a diasporic writer/poet and how her travels around Europe and America influenced her writings.

She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on digital and mediatized culture in India and the Indian diaspora, on video games/gaming with a focus on India, and on popular culture in contemporary India.

This episode brings the conversation between Debarshi Mitra (9th Srinivas Rayaprol Poetry Prize winner) and Anjali Lal Gupta (Faculty, Dept of Communication, UoH) Debarshi Mitra, a 22-year old doctoral student in Physics, won the 9th Srinivas Rayaprol Poetry Prize. A jury consisting of the poet, Arvind Krishna Mehrotra and two faculty members from the English department at University of Hyderabad, Anna Kurian and Sirisha Telugu selected him from among more than 100 entries. A doctoral student in physics, Debarshi, 22, had his debut book of poems ‘ Eternal Migrant’ published in May 2016 by Writers Workshop. His works have previously appeared in anthologies like Kaafiyana and in literary magazines like ‘ The Scarlet Leaf Review’, ’Thumbprint’, ‘The Punch Magazine’, ‘The Poet Community,’ and ‘Leaves of Ink’ among others. His second collection of poems, ‘Spare Change’ is forthcoming in 2018. He was the recipient of the runner up prize for The Wingword Poetry Contest, 2017.
