Since its inception in 1985, WrestleMania has gone by many nicknames including the “Granddaddy of Them All,” the “Super Bowl of Wrestling,” and of course “Showcase of the Immortals.” We are just 32-weeks away from the biggest WrestleMania in WWE History; WrestleMania XXXII will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas on April 3rd 2016. While there’s always been some concern as to the legitimacy of WWE’s attendance figures in the past, this event is almost guaranteed to break all pre-existing records. Join Mark Adam Haggerty of Daily Wrestling News and Gary Mastriano of Cheap-Heat for this one-of-a-kind podcast series featuring guests from all walks of life including comedians, musicians, and most importantly—professional wrestlers! We’ll be back every Friday with an in depth look at each and every WrestleMania from the action in the ring, to the stories behind the scenes.

This week we took a detour from the norm with two guests and a surprise appearance! Tam Garcia from Garden State Line makes his B+ Player debut and James Thorpey from It’s Still REEL to Me is back and ready to tackle one of our personal favorite WrestleManias in history. WrestleMania XII took place on March 31st 1996 in front of 18,853 fans at the Anaheim Pond in Anaheim California. The undercard included five matches—none of them for championships—and the main event was the ICONIC one-hour Iron Man Match between Shawn Michaels and Bret “The Hitman” Hart. This week’s show features about 45 minutes of serious discussion when it comes to the historical significance of the event, our memories of the time, and everything preceding the championship main event. Then things get a little insane. We decided to “Power Hour” the one hour matchup, which proved to be a bad idea as we couldn’t keep focused on the task at hand. We copped out at about 50 minutes because the Survivor Series was about to start, but I think we were drunk enough for a bunch of 30 year olds on a Sunday Night. Anyway—we had fun, and we hope you enjoy the show.
