We bring you a special mini episode this week, featuring an interview with James Averill of the Northampton Town Supporters’ Trust.
The Cobblers are in financial crisis, and have been issued with a winding up order by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), who are owed £166,000 by the club. A date for the case has been set at the High Court for Monday November 16th, when the club could be liquidated.
Northampton Borough Council is also owed £10.25 million by the club – and last week it was revealed that players and staff at Sixfields were not being paid.
James explains the problems, discusses the recent death of Cobblers fan Brian Lomax (the man who invented supporters’ trusts) and his vision for the future of the club.
