Many of us have faced moments of restless and anxious waiting in life. Sometimes, almost everything just lines up perfectly in a row but for that one missing factor. It gives a feeling of helplessness and despair during such times. The song covered herewith is an evergreen yesteryear classic from M.K.Arjunan, composed for the movie "PushpAnjali" and released in the early 70s. The protagonist here is awaiting the participation of the significant other at a party where everything is just about perfect. The feeling of anxiety and loss of hope as the time goes by in waiting is brought out poignantly in raag Mishra Sivaranjani. One other song of yearning that shares this raag space is Mukeshji's "Jaane Kahan Gaye Woh Din". The stars have lit up the sky as a bright platform and the heavenly damsels are ready to break into a welcome sequence...but you haven't shown up as yet....everything here is wasted in this endless wait...and we keep waiting. These lines sum up the meaning of this song in short. Hope you all will enjoy this brilliant poignant composition...coincidentally, this is a recording from Muziboo days so in some sense, it does fill me with memories of its downfall.
