Friends - Here's presenting a rare folk-based song from Dr.Ilayaraja. A highly underrated composition with sheer brilliant shades effervescent with the flavor of Indian villages. The situation in this movie has the protagonist who has musical interest and takes up the daunting task of training young boys in the village he visits with singing this song. Brilliant chorus portions with intricate harmonies and tight inter-lacing of rustic flavors and harmonious repeat words in the antarAs/charanams makes this an effervescent pick from the early eighties. I had a blast attempting this rural folk genre and hope you all will enjoy this forgotten melody. The multitude of instruments (particularly the percussion types in the second interlude) are worth a mention and the track maker has authentically recreate these impeccably!
