Sound of Silence is my dad's favourite song from Simon & Garfunkel, written by Paul Simon. My dad used to sing this song and ask me to jam with him and his guitar occasionally. Back then, I used to hum this song but don't really understand what it's all about.
This couple of months I self-reflect from issues that happened lately, it inspires me to write a new song, but i got nothing.
I read some interesting articles and old poems and suddenly this piece of music rang again on my mind:
"People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
No one dare
Disturb the sound of silence"
It brings back my childhood memories. And now that I've grown up, I learn to understand much more than to know.
I listen to the sound of silence and learn to take the courage to speak the truth.
I share my thoughts with Indra Perkasa and ask him to do workshop on it together. He really makes a beautiful music out of this song, a whisper of light, if you can hear.
So, here's one good song with a message that I choose to cover with Indra Perkasa on The Day of Silence. I hope you guys enjoy it.
All credits of this song belong to Simon & Garfunkel.
