God calls us out of the world to make a change in the world.
In John 4:7-10 Jesus asks a Samaritan woman at the well for water and tells her about 'living water'. In verses 13-14 Jesus tells the woman that if she drinks the water he gives her she will not thirst. In verses 27-30 the woman goes to tell everyone about Jesus.
1) Before we can go out into the world we must first come to the well to have an encounter with God. Isaiah 12:3 tells us with joy we will draw water. In 2 Peter 2:17-22 we are told there is a danger if we disconnect from the presence of God. In Psalm 23:6 we are told to dwell in the presence of the Lord. Christianity is a Spiritual journey. The enemy will always be near our door. Daniel was close to God and his enemies could find no fault in him. His enemies put Daniel in the lions’ den but God protected Daniel. In Psalm 91:11 we are told God's angels surround us to protect us.
2) Before we go out to make a change in the world come to the well just as we are. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us we are a new creation. In Acts 14:12 we are told salvation is in Jesus.
3) When we receive the 'living water' share it with others. The woman at the well left her water jar and went to tell others about Jesus. In Romans 3:22 we are told that through faith the righteous of Christ in now among us. When the woman went to tell others many were transformed by her testimony. The same is with us when people see how we live in joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength.
