The Glasgow Episode. Featuring Raymond Meade, Tijuana Bibles, Baby Strange, and The Kevin McDermott Orchestra. To open the the show, we recall some of our favourite gig stories - the best, worst, most disappointing kinda thing. Not much love for The Beastie Boys.
Our first band are the excellent Tijuana Bibles. The 4-piece outfit are in the middle of a European tour at the moment (you can catch up with their adventures here http://tijuanabibles.co.uk/ & on Faceook etc) and have just released their second EP - Ghost/Dance/Movement. The band were also kind enough to send us their own personal "thank you" message. Good luck to them and enjoy the ride!
Next up, was an artist new to me - Raymond Meade. The track we feature actually has Del Amitri's Justin Currie on vocals and it's a cracker. We also look at Raymond's past endevours in the music business and quitting a band mid-tour.
The Kevin McDermott Orchestra, one of my favourite bands from many, many moons ago, were up next. His debut album 'Mother Nature's Kitchen' was voted #37 in the Best Scottish Album Ever but I'd give it higher marks than that. We cover the band's 'Island years' on a major label, and working as a draughtsman.
Closing the show, another new band, Baby Strange. Somewhere between The Jesus and Mary Chain, Depeche Mode, and The Ramones. Another one destined for bigger things.
Enjoy the show.
