Wo jab yaad aye, bahot yaad aye
gam-e-jindagi ke aandhere men hamane
chiraag-e-mohabbat jalaae, bujhaae

ahate jaag uthhi, raaste hans die
thaamakar dil uthhe ham kisi ke lie
kahi baar aisaa bhi dhokhaa hua hai
chale a rahe hain wo najre jhukaae

dil sulagane lagaa, ashk bahane lage
jaane kyaa kyaa hame log kahane lage
magar rote rote hansi a gayi hai
khayaalon men a ke wo jab muskuraaye

wo judaa kyaa hue, jindagi kho gayi
shammaa jalati rahi, roshani kho gayi
bahut koshishen ki magar dil n bahalaa
kahi saaj chhede, kahi i git gaae
