I, (Aminul Islam Sujon) wrote script & moderated this radio talk show titled environment-friendly and comfortable travel during Eid festival, on-aired on 18 July at Bangladesh Betar. It is regular talk show, part of Bigyan o Poribesh (Science and Environment), on-aired twice in every month (first and third Saturday 8.30 am).
As moderator, I’ve provided background information of this talk show Eid is near to us. So, many of us prepared to celebrate this festival with family and friends. Therefore, to celebrate with family, most of people travel to village from city. As many people travel during these festivals, travelling during Eid, traveling to home and return to city became worst due to lack of proper coordination and dependency of road transport. Traffic congestion, death and disabilities due to accidents and ticket prices is increases rapidly. Road transports is also pollute environment, such as air and noise.
Travel expert Mr. Maruf Rahman, National Advocacy Officer of the Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB) Trust and Eminent environmentalist Mr. Abu Naser Khan, Chairman of the Poribesh Bachao Andolon (POBA/ Save the Environment Movement) were guest speakers.
In this program, we have talked those safe, comfortable and environment friendly travel during Eid as we know that Eid is one of largest festivals in Bangladesh. More than 20 million people travel from work place to village to celebrate Eid with parents and family. So travel became worst and horrible. But as travel is necessary, no one can avoid it. However, speakers discussed how to make better travel during Eid and for all the time in Bangladesh which is now a big challenge for us.
