Sahir Ludhiyanvi was a serious poet whose work reflected happenings in his own life. Those who have read about the poet would know about circumstances in his life, his fathers role and how his mother supported him. The first antara to me suggests him consoling his mother but the Bollywood producers at the time were smart people to have used his work for films in a different perspective. Some of Sahir's work was not film related but he could easily share his own life experiences in film songs too.
RD's remarkable composition blends so gracefully with the lyrics making it one of my favorite songs. RD was a Master of selecting instruments for his compositions and creating an atmosphere that was so film like leaving and everlasting impressions on film watchers, even those who only enjoyed listening his songs. A true genius. I admire his use of Flutes, Sitar, Santoor, various organs and Accordion in his compositions. But this is not all his Percussion and Bass Guitar were exceptional too. This was the only track I could find and sang over it despite having lots of difficulty mixing on such tracks. I hope you like this cover too.
