Lumi and I talk about the various USB to RS232 adaptors that are on the market. It turns out that several that use the prolific chip-set have problems on some computers. I am not sure if the Keyspan USA-49W uses this but it seems that it doesn't assert DTR on the modem or possibly honor CTS/RTS which makes it unable the answer the modem calls. With no working hardware flow control.... Fax reception is almost impossible. Nor does the driver apparently see RI from the modem either.

There is the FTDI FT232RL chipset that does have the support for all of these lines. And in addition, the Mac driver is available for PowerPc as well as a separate Intel version. The Linux driver also comes as source code which can be compiled against your Kernel version (2.4 and newer kernals)

The U.S Surgeon General believes that Marijuana may have positive medical uses and wants Eric Holder to begin changing its Schedule 1 status to Schedule 2 or 3 to allow for more medical research into Marijuana treatment.

These are just a few of the topics that Lumi and I discuss in this Radio program.
